The Business Support Centre for Small and Medium Enterprises - Ruse is implementing the Project "TourNet - Promotion of Cross-border Networking for Development of a Common Bulgarian-Romanian Tourist Product", under CBC Romania-Bulgaria 2007-2013Programme, on 01 October 2010. The project coordinator is the BSC SME - Ruse and its partners are Giurgiu County Council, Romania,Association Euroregion "Danubius" - Ruse and Academy of Economic Studies - Bucharest Territorial University centre - Giurgiu. Theproject total budget is 490 500 EUR.The TourNet Project is about research on the potential for alternative tourism in the cross-border area Bulgaria - Romania along theDanube River, as the tourist product is underdeveloped in the Danube regions of both countries. The main types of alternative tourism that fall within the scope of TourNet Project are historical, religious tourism, bird watching, cave and extreme tourism and others.Following the research activity a web portal in four languages will be created - Bulgarian, Romanian, English and German - containingdata on all tourism opportunities, as well as information on accommodation, food and entertainment places, transport, etc. Theproject will end up with issuing of a luxury catalogue that will present the region as an attractive tourist destination under a commondesign and brand. The final project activities also include the organization of an international trade fair on alternative tourismleaving the possibility in future the fair to be organized each year in different Bulgarian or Romanian city within the cross-borderarea.Project Objectives are: 1. Promoting the establishment of a Bulgarian- Romanian network in support of tourism; 2. Mapping of available tourism resources in the region; 3. Development of common informational and promotional materials; 4. Development of common services of the future network; 5. Development of a common tourism promotion strategy; 6. Development of a common strategy for establishment of a common tourist cluster.Project Activities include: 1. Kick-off project meeting; 2. Constant gathering of information; 3. Quarterly working meetings; 4. Establishment of 2 networking coordination centers; 5. Design of a regional tourism logo, website, database and promotion; 6. Regional seminar for launching the website and networking opportunities; 7. International cross-border tourism fair; 8.
